Construction Operations Manager
Richard Wallace Builder is a family-owned custom residential building company. We are seeking an experienced construction professional to fill the role of Construction Operations Manager.
The Role:
The Construction Operations Manager will oversee and manage custom residential construction projects from pre-construction through completion. All field staff, including project managers, assistant project managers, and field technicians, will report directly to the Construction Operations Manager. Much of the manager's time will be spent in the field reviewing construction details, time schedules, and installation details as well as coaching and mentoring. The role of the Construction Operations Manager is to accomplish objectives through effective team leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure adherence to project and product specifications, company standards, and safety protocols
- Monitor job site organization
- Train field staff on the usage of technological aids in scheduling and quality assurance
- Reviews engineering, architecture, and construction drawings for constructability.
- Assure that project managers and subcontractors have a full understanding of the HVAC, plumbing, and electrical plans as well as special or unusual plan details.
- Review all construction documents and plans. Work with an in-house architect to make all corrections to plans and documents prior to release.
- Provide guidance, training, and support to project managers, assistant project managers, and field staff. Lead regular growth and development discussions for all direct reports.
- Foster a culture of respect, collaboration, and integrity with colleagues, trade partners, and homeowners.
- Emphasize continuous improvement in planning, budgeting, technology use, and operations.
- Continuously seek improvements in methods, processes, and quality assurance.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in residential construction which includes practical field experience and a demonstrated record of handling increased levels of responsibility
- Strong knowledge of construction methods and materials
- Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills
- Must be able to see potential problems ahead of time and find practical ways to prevent or solve them.
- Knowledge of or ability to learn construction management software such as BuilderTrend, Bluebeam
- Ability to interpret and review engineering, architectural, and construction documents.
- Previous management and supervisory experience with budget responsibilities preferred
- Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field preferred

Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary: $100,000 - $125,000 plus bonus.
- Partial reimbursement for health insurance.
